My social media for law firms career began when I worked at MBM Intellectual Property Law LLP as a business development coordinator. MBM was always ahead of the marketing curve and they encouraged me to create social media accounts for the firm. I chronicled everything in the original Social Media for Law Firms blog. My hope was that lawyers within the firm would follow my blog and update their LinkedIn accounts, write blog posts, and take part in other activities.
Six months later, lawyers and law firms across North America were inquiring about my consulting services. Adrian Dayton provided me with an excellent opportunity to work with him while transitioning away from the firm. He is an excellent teacher, and thanks to him, I worked with some of the largest law firms in the United States.
My biggest task was assigned social media scores to every law firm in the Am Law. We rated every single aspect of their online presence including website features. Thanks to this experience, I love auditing social media accounts. For example, Facebook Pages have at least 50 fields to properly fill out, and I am extremely efficient at picking out errors.
I started my own social media consulting career 12 months later. My clients include small and large law firms across North America. I also work with other legal marketers on various projects. One of the biggest highlights of my career was speaking at the 2016 Clio Cloud Conference and meeting one of my mentors and fellow speakers, Gary Vaynerchuk. I reached every single social media goal I set for both my clients and myself.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I am blessed to have a career I absolutely love. The best part is meeting new friends along the way. Most people don’t believe me but I’m an introvert at heart so working from home suits me well!
